We are thrilled to offer a captivating opportunity to an exceptional and enthusiastic Head Chef to spearhead our team. In this pivotal role, you will directly collaborate with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in crafting and implementing remarkable menus while upholding impeccable standards of food excellence and presentation.

Moreover, you will oversee the seamless day-to-day functioning of the kitchen operations within the Palm House kitchen, including Live interactive Buffet, room service for our 196 rooms and our premium VIP Orpheus room.

The Role

Accountable for their assigned section and to ensure correct procedures are adhered to in daily food preparation.  Monitor the quality of the food and strive for high productivity in line with the objectives set and established by the management. Acts as a direct link between the Executive Sous Chef, kitchen department and stewarding department. This role is accountable for the culinary department when the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef are not on property.

REQUIREMENTS

About You

  • Formal trade qualification in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience as a senior Chef.
  • Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and culinary trends.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead, coach and mentor a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually appealing and delicious dishes.
  • Extensive knowledge of monitoring food costs, minimising waste, managing labour costs, and driving revenue.
  • A working understanding of and ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP.
